This month, four unprecedented Jewish-Polish Christmas concerts will take place. The CLIL Jewish Choir took the initiative and invited three other choirs from Łódź and Warsaw to cooperate. During the concerts, the choirs will present Hanukkah songs and carols, as both Jewish and Christian traditions, Hanukkah and Christmas are celebrated at the same time.
The concert will be crowned with “Chanukolęda”;, a piece written especially for this occasion by the composer Zuzanna Koziej, combining the motifs of traditional Jewish Hanukkah songs and Polish carols. The motifs intertwine to show how much these two traditions have in common and how well they can coexist with each other.
