Conductor in Warsaw since September 2014
He started learning to play the violin at the age of 6. He was a long-term student of Professor Zenon Płoszaj at the Henryk Wieniawski Primary and Secondary Music School in Lodz.
In 2003 he graduated from the Zenon Brzewski High School of Music in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Mirosław Ławrynowicz (diploma with honours). He studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under Prof. Igor Ozim and at the University for Musik and Darstellende Kunst in Vienna under Prof. Gerhard Schulz. In 2012 he graduated from the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz in the violin class of Professor Iwona Wojciechowska.
From the age of 10 he took part in national and international violin competitions. He is a laureate of Grand Prix and “Rydwan Apollina” at the National Auditions of violin students of Music Schools of the First Degree in Olsztyn, a laureate of the first place at the National Auditions of violin and viola students of Music Schools of the second degree in Elbląg and the first place of the 10th Competition of Young Violinists of the Łódź Region. In 2001 he won second place at the 3rd Louis Spohr International Competition for Young Violinists in Weimar. In 2004, he won the Audience Award at the Internationales Kärntner Sparkasse Wörthersee Musikstipendium in Velden, Austria and the ESTA Student of The Year Award from the European String Teachers Association at the Rotterdam conference. In the same year he received a special award for the best performance of a contemporary work at the 11th Johannes Brahms International Competition in Pörtschach, Austria. In 2006 he won 6th place at the 13th H. Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań, and in 2008 he won the Violinwettbewerb in Vienna.
He took part in many national and international music courses working under the direction of, among others: Wanda Wiłkomirska, Hermann Krebbers, Sherban Lupu, Wolfgang Marschner, Christiane Hutcap, Marina Jaszwili and Krzysztof Węgrzyn. He was a multiple scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and a laureate of the Scholarship Program of the Minister of Culture “Young Poland”. For a number of years he was also under the care of the National Children’s Fund, and then a scholarship holder.
He has given concerts in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Croatia, Malta and Japan. In 2005 and 2006 he performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the 9th and 10th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw. In 2008 he participated as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster at the Kyoto International Music Students Festival. His phonographic output includes 2 records with Henryk Wieniawski’s music (DUX, Polmusic) – including one recorded together with his brother Piotr.
He has performed with such orchestras as Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra “Amadeus” or Beethoven Academy Orchestra.
In 2014 he completed Postgraduate Choirmaster Studies at the Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz. Graduate of the Faculty of Symphonic and Opera Conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Professor Marek Pijarowski (diploma in May 2016). Currently he is studying choral conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
He took part in the 5th International Academy of Conductors in Radom and in the 2nd Conducting Courses in Krakow. In 2013 he was awarded a distinction at the 1st Adam Kopyciński National Competition of Conducting Students. In 2016, he received the first distinction at the VI Witold Lutosławski National Competition for Young Conductors in Białystok.
As a conductor he had the opportunity to cooperate with such orchestras as Radom Chamber Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestra of the Lodz Philharmonic.
